JPL tests learned terrain control and long-range autonomy separately with ERNEST

JPL trained ERNEST's active-suspension controller in simulation and tested it on obstacle courses in the Mars Yard. A separate 26-kilometre desert campaign exercised longer-range autonomy with minimal intervention; integrating the two capabilities is the next research step. ERNEST is a research testbed; NASA/JPL's release does not announce a flight assignment.

Raspberry Pi's AI HAT+ 2 brings small generative models to the Pi 5

At launch, Raspberry Pi listed the AI HAT+ 2 at $130. The add-on combines a Hailo-10H accelerator rated at 40 TOPS for INT4 inference with 8GB of dedicated memory for local language and vision experiments. Those are product specifications for constrained edge models, not evidence that it can replace frontier cloud systems.
